If you already own the 2019 or early 2020 model, there’s no reason to upgrade to this iteration just yet. Everything is essentially the same design-wise with the only difference to the laptop being the M1 chip. With that being said, there’s not a huge number of changes over the model it’s replaced.
It’s been too long since the last time the company’s line of laptops has gotten this big of an upgrade.
That’s because Apple has forgone use of the Intel processors that have powered its computers for a long time for its very own M1 chip. Just like with the Mac mini (M1, 2020) and the MacBook Air (M1, 2020) which were released alongside it, the Pro represents a turning point. Apple has finally done something special with the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020).
